The Craft School/Gallery is a nonprofit activity established to promote the skill and techniques of craft. It will create an environment suited to training, support, encouragement and display of craftsmen, for the professional, hobbyist and enthusiast. The facility will make craft available to the public through exhibit and sale. The school and gallery will endeavor to broaden the understanding and appreciation of craft. Also offers programs in visual/fine arts, performing arts and culinary arts.

The American Woodcarving School was founded in 1974 by sculptor Michael Denike. Mr. Denike's dream ... a school that's sole purpose is instructing and promoting the art of Woodcarving. The school holds regular day and evening classes 52 weeks out of the year, and approximately 6 weekend workshops per year.

With over 70 fine art and craft classes and workshops in watercolor, pastel, painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, stained glass, jewelry, printmaking, Chinese brush painting, fiber arts, lamp working and more the Art School at Old Church draws over 700 students weekly from the tri-state region. At the Art School, you can find something for everyone, for people of all ages and abilities, including monthly exhibits of both student and professional fine art and crafts. Staffed with a faculty of professional artists, the Art School provides both a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere for all.

Peters Valley is an art education center that is devoted to the teaching of craft as an art form. There are seven studio areas active at The Valley: blacksmithing, ceramics, fiber, fine metals, photography, weaving and woodworking. A full course schedule for 1998 in all media is offered throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

Touchstone is a unique three-season crafts school in the beautiful Laurel Highlands 60 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1972 as Pioneer Crafts Council, Touchstone's original mission was to foster interest in the preservation of traditional mountain crafts. Today, this unique craft school has expanded to include contemporary and experimental techniques in addition to traditional and historic methods in disciplines such as blacksmithing, ceramics, metals, textiles, glass, oil and watercolor painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. As Pennsylvania's only residential craft school, Touchstone offers both beginner and seasoned artists more than one hundred week-long and weekend courses taught by some of North America's finest artists and artisans.

Springwater Fiber Workshop is a community of artists who seek to explore the possibilities of yarn and fiber through spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, dyeing and surface design. Its mission as a nonprofit school of fiber arts is to:
€ Preserve and promote an appreciation and understanding of the fiber arts, both historical and contemporary.
